The Community Press spotlighted a noteworthy group in yesterday’s online edition. To better cope with her son’s brain injury that was caused by a drunk driver, Carole Vincent started the Quinte District Brain Injury Association to provide the structured support that was lacking in her area. Vincent’s organization provides support materials, referral information and social activities along with vigils. This type of community support is important for families, friends and caregivers of those with brain injuries, and it’s something that small communities and even larger ones, lack.
