Amy J. Houtrow, MD MPH
Dr. Amy Houtrow is a pediatric physiatrist with the Department of Pediatrics at UCSF. She is the Medical Director of the Spinal Bifida Program and the Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Programs. Her clinical focus is caring for children with disabling conditions, including acquired brain and spinal cord injuries. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University. She completed two residencies in Cincinnati, OH, one in Pediatrics and one in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is board certified in both disciplines. Additionally, she pursued and received her Master in Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the University of Michigan. Dr. Houtrow’s research focus is ensuring access and adequate financing for quality health care for children with disabilities.
